Devon enjoys the proximity to the amenities of the Provincial Capital, most of which can be reached within a relaxing 20 minute drive. Additionally, the Town is located in the heart of Western Canada's Asia Specific Gateway, it is close to Nisku and Acheson Industrial Zones and enjoys proximity to the International Airport.
Our Economic Base is diversified and boasts a World class advanced technology research centre where federal, provincial, university and private industry all collaborate together to tackle different scientific questions and to advance methodologies for enhanced oil sands production while reducing the greenhouse gas emissions.
New Businesses
The Town of Devon is proud to be the home of a new commercial development in the south end of Town. Southport Common has partially opened up and contrsuction continues. Currently, the centre is anchored by Shoppers Drug Mart and it's likely that other big brand names will join them soon. This increases the vibrancy of selection and competition, and it also brings new employment opportunities.
Devon has embarked on an important and major project vitalizing our downtown, which will embrace the needs of our community and create a space for our people. Implementing the plan will involve identifiying key businesses for the space and engaging new inventory in the heart of our community.
