Devon Fire Hall, 9 Columbia Avenue West. Ph. 780-987-3718 (in an emergency call 911)
The Devon Fire Department was started by the Imperial Oil company in the early 1950s but was soon turned over to the newly built Town of Devon. One of the first fire trucks was a 1944 International that was RCAF surplus. It was brought back to life in the 1980s by a group of firefighters and that same truck (called “Old Red”) can still be seen in the annual Devon Days Parade.
Today, The Devon Fire Department is a well trained group of approximately 35 dedicated volunteers - men and women who provide fire protection, rescue and education to the residents of Devon and the County of Parkland (District 1).
In the event of an emergency beyond our capabilities we have mutual aid agreements with other Parkland districts and the County of Leduc. Although there are no set “open” hours, the fire hall is usually open on Saturdays between 9:00 and 11:00. Call first to be sure.
