Plan Purpose

The Town of Devon has changed over the years from being a strictly one company “oil” town  in the 1950's to being a mixed community with diverse attributes including: a major government research center; a highway service function for the adjacent highway; a regional service center to residents of the town, surrounding smaller communities, and acreages; as well as a suburb community for commuters working in Edmonton and the Nisku industrial park.  

Considering the past changes and the current challenges that the community faces, Council and Administration have acknowledged the need to plan ahead, to be prepared for changing circumstances, and to provide effective and efficient municipal services. This business plan is intended to provide guidance for Council and Administration in their efforts to look ahead and to steer or direct the Town’s future.
