Drive Happiness is a non-profit organization that seeks to enhance mobility and connect older adults to the resources needed to live and age well. Through its Seniors Assisted Transportation Program, older Albertans with health issues or limited income can request a ride to medical clinics, businesses, recreation facilities, and wherever else they need to go. Rides up to 40 kilometres or 90 minutes cost $10, and they are provided by friendly volunteers who are screened for a clean driving abstract, a vulnerable sector police check, and a well-maintained vehicle. To become a volunteer, please visit drivehappiness.ca/volunteering/.
Drive Happiness also offers several programs beyond its ride service. Volunteers deliver groceries, medical equipment, and other essential items straight to members’ doors. The organization also provides free rides to immunization appointments for people of all ages living in Northwestern Alberta through its Driving Rural Access to Vaccines (DRAV) initiative, which received funding from the Public Health Agency of Canada. To learn more about Drive Happiness, please visit drivehappiness.ca/ or call 780-424-5438.

Devon Fire Rescue began in 1948 as an all volunteer department. Almost 75 years later, the Devon Fire Rescue now has approximately 30 paid on call members including 2 full time firefighters, all led by Fire Chief Robert Main.
Over 200 times a year, the department responds to emergencies within the town limits, plus Parkland and if needed, Leduc County. Devon Fire Rescue fights structural, vehicle and wildland fires, assists Alberta Health Services with medical calls, along with responding to various smoke and gas alarms, motor vehicle collisions and river emergencies.
Our fleet consists of two engines, one rescue vehicle, one water tanker, two rescue boats, one squad truck and a pickup truck.
Devon Fire Rescue is now recruiting for its next recruit class starting in October. Please call 780-987-3718 or email jhay@devon.ca if interested in becoming a proud member of Devon Fire Rescue.

No Partner? No problem! We are not a couples club. People generally dance the first and last tip with their spouse or partner, but in between we make sure everyone gets on the floor.
Costumes Optional The colourful traditional square dance costumes (crinolines and flared skirts for ladies, western wear for the men) are optional. Dressy casual is fine.
What if I have 2 left feet? You’re in luck! Square dance has no fancy footwork to memorize -- simply take one "shuffle step" to each beat of the music .
Economical Night Out An evening of square dancing is much less expensive than a gym pass, going to the movies, or a dinner out.
No lead/follow Because we dance in a group, each person does his or her part. If you get lost, you'll have lots of help.
Modern square dancing uses a wide variety of music – pop, traditional country, Broadway musical, contemporary country, classic rock — even Motown, techno and hip-hop. Something for every toe to tap to.
