The Town of Devon provides its residents with a comprehensive waste collection program that includes weekly pick up of waste and recycling, organics pickup, access to the Devon Recycling Depot and our Spring and Fall Treasure Hunt & Large Item Pick Up events.

What goes where?

If you aren't sure if an item should be placed in your black waste cart, green organics cart or blue recycling bag, you can always refer to our detailed sorting list which provides a thorough list of how to dispose of common household items.

Curbside Collection

Residential waste is picked up weekly on Tuesdays or Wednesdays depending on when residents collection day is.

Curbside collection includes:

• Garbage - black waste carts are collecting weekly year round
• Blue Bag Recycling - blue recycling bags are collecting weekly year round
• Organics - green organics carts are collected weekly from May to November and bi-weekly from November to May

Curbside Collection Requirements

• All carts and blue bags must be out by 7 a.m. on your collection day
• Carts must be placed on the street against the curb or at the edge of your laneway in a back alley
• Front of cart must face towards the road or alley
• Ensure thee is at least one metre of space between all carts and blue bags and vehicles or structures
• Lids must be fully closed
