Crisis Support

If you or someone you know are in danger, or are at imminent risk of suicide call 9-1-1.

Town of Devon FCSS does not offer crisis intervention. The Edmonton region can access trained specialists, available 24/7, who provide an essential service to those in need. Whatever your concern is - please call.

If you, or anyone you know, needs support at any time, please call 24/7 at1-800-232-7288.

There is also a new Canada-wide text support service for young people - text HOME to 686868 to connect with a trained responder 24/7.

Services and Programs to Support Mental Wellness

The Town of Devon Community Services department aims to focus their work around creating a mentally healthy community. We do this using a mentla wellness lense with our work that we call #YouGotThis. For more information please click HERE.

To support this approach, the Town offers a variety of social, emotional, physical and nutritional programs, services and support groups that can support mental wellness.

Subsidized counselling. Sometimes you might need some additional support to help you through a difficult or stressful time. The Town of Devon can offer a limited number of sessions to eligible residents.

Subsidies are based on income. Broadly - for those who do not have children under 18 living at home, you may qualify if you earn less than $50,000 per household and for those with children under 18 at home this threshold increases to $75,000. Both centres are based in Leduc - for more information on what each centre can offer: Family Counselling Centres or Karunia Counselling

Our FCSS team can discuss this, and other options with you. For more information please call 780-987-8325 or via email HERE.

#YouGotThis Song

#YouGotThis got its own song by local Devon musical artist Kym Simon to develop a song in support of the campaign. The lyrics aim to remind people that they are not alone.
