633 Community Events Event date: 3/26/2019 9:00 AM - 4:30 PM Export event The Energy Futures Lab (EFL) invites you to explore what an energy transition could look like for Devon. The EFL will host the Energy Futures Roadshow and will involve different audiences in the community, including municipal government, local businesses and economic development authorities, schools, and the general public. ROADSHOW OBJECTIVES Increase understanding about the energy system at a high-level and in a local context. Explore polarities in energy transition and inspire action on initiatives that move towards an energy future that honours both polarities. Secure a commitment by community members to take collaborative action on initiatives surfacing from the workshop. Establish an ongoing connection between the Energy Futures Lab, its broader network and the municipality. March 26th - Community Resilience The second day will take a workshop format and be a place for participants to explore the implications of energy-related issues for Devon with each other. The workshop will offer guest speakers and provide other activities that will help participants better understand the opportunities and risks of energy-related issues to Devon, showcase existing local initiatives, and explore what near-term initiatives (existing or new) are most important and needed to become a more resilient community.
