The Town of Devon boasts a number of facilities for residents and visitors. Whatever the weather and whatever you are looking for we have something for everyone.
The Dale Fisher Arena is home to the Devon Minor Hockey Association, Devon Skating Club, NAX Hockey Academy, Barons Senior Men's League, and several adult hockey teams. In the spring of 1999, the arena was named in honor of Dale Fisher, who was instrumental in both the development of the arena and the minor hockey program in Devon. Devon has two outdoor skating rinks available in the winter season. They are free to use and can be accessed up until 10pm at night, as both are lit.
Devon's main tobogganing hill is located in the River Valley East, at the bottom of the golf course road, on the right side as you come down the hill. The hill is open during the winter and is available for residents and visitors to use. Parking is available at the bottom of the hill. Please familiarize yourself with the safety precautions that are noted on the sign at the site as this venue is unsupervised.
There are four ball diamond areas located on the south end of town (at the corner of Highway 19 and Highway 60 at Derrick Drive) and two locations in town. The ball diamonds have shaled infields with grass outfields and are fenced in.
The Devon outdoor swimming pool is a 25-meter pool, that is open mid-May to the end of August each year. There are a wading pool and a play area. Red Cross and Royal Life swimming lessons are offered throughout the summer months. The pool is also available for private rental. Ten (10) working days’ notice is required for cancellation of any rental.
Enjoy hot summer days at Devon’s splash park, a great place for families to enjoy the outdoors while staying cool. It offers a park like setting with picnic tables, making it easy for a picnic lunch with large trees and grassy areas that offer shade. A port-a-potty is on site, and plenty of parking right near the spray park so no need to haul toddler necessities very far. Located in Centennial Park.
Designed by mountain bike park builder extraordinaire, Jay Hoots, this park as a welcome mat to mountain biking. The park offers opportunities for riders of all ages on all types of bikes to learn and practice bike handling in a planned, safe, natural environment. The park features include a large wooden skills area, pump track and a series of dirt jumps which range from beginner to advanced levels.
There are outdoor basketball courts available for the community to enjoy. The courts are located next to: John Maland High School Riverview Middle School Highwood Park.
Devon's Skateboard Park is located behind the Community Centre at 20 Haven Avenue. The park includes a number of ramps with varying levels of difficulty to accommodate both experienced and beginner skateboarders. Please note, riders are strongly encouraged to wear helmets.
Devon has several junior fields, full size, and class A fully irrigated fields. The junior fields are located near Robina Baker Primary School and the Holy Spirit Primary School. The class A fields are at Riverview Middle School and John Maland High School. Devon Minor Soccer Association manages bookings during the year, and they run a very successful soccer club for children of all ages.
Tennis players can enjoy four outdoor courts. The courts are located next to John Maland High School at 105 Athabasca Avenue.
There is a volleyball net available at Centennial Park and can be accessed May to September. Please note, the volleyball net is for outdoor use.
A beautiful 18-hole golf course situated along the banks of the scenic North Saskatchewan River. A very popular location for company and group functions in the Edmonton area. Meeting and seminar facilities available that can accommodate groups from 10 to 240 people with a wide range of audio and visual systems. Fully licensed. Catering available.
