Summer Shack is back with new themes for 2019!

Devon’s travelling playground returns with 13 exciting dates this summer

Devon’s travelling playground Summer Shack is back for another exciting summer with 13 dates planned throughout July and August.

Summer Shack is a free drop-in program that pops up in different parks around Devon throughout the summer and offers a different theme each week. Each theme has its own games and crafts to provide kids with a new experience at each Summer Shack they attend.

Summer Shack is a guided, unsupervised and unstructured program recommended for children age 5 and up, but everyone is welcome to attend with adult supervision.

2019 Summer Shack Schedule (10 a.m. – 2 p.m. each day)

July 4: Let's Get Messy - Centennial Park
July 9: Crafty Critters - Robina Baker Park
July 11: Nature's Calling - Highwood Park
July 16: Starfish Social - Centennial Park
July 18: Aloha! - Pipeline Park West
July 30: Wet and Wild - Centennial Park
Aug. 1: Monster Mayhem - Robina Baker Park
Aug. 6: Crafty Critters - Pipeline Park West
Aug. 7: Let's Get Messy - Centennial Park
Aug. 13: Nature's Calling - Centennial Park
Aug. 15: Starfish Social - Robina Baker Park
Aug. 20: Aloha - Highwood Park
Aug. 22: Wet and Wild - Centennial Park

“We are thrilled to bring our Summer Shack program back for another summer with some great new themes,” said Jordan Higgs, Program and Events Coordinator for the Town of Devon “If you haven’t checked it out yet, make sure to drop by one of our Summer Shack’s this summer for a new play experience.”

As Summer Shack is an outdoor program, it may be cancelled or postponed due to inclement weather. All cancelled and postponed dates are posted on the Town of Devon’s Facebook as well as on the Town of Devon website at devon.ca/summer-shack.
