Public Skate Programs  

Get moving and spend some time with friends and family at the GFL Twin Arena. Public Skate Programs are offered to our residents at no charge, at the specified times. 

Programs are subject to change without notice, please select the link for Dale Fisher Rink or Shayne Zender Memorial Rink for the current schedule. 

Public skate - All levels of skaters welcome. No hockey sticks during public skate. Ice skating helmets are mandatory for all participants 18 and under and strongly recommended for all participants during ice activity.

Public Skate - September - March 

Dates may be cancelled to accommodate school programming, please always check the calendar using the link above. During select holidays, public skate programs may be extended. 

• Monday and Wednesday - 12-1 p.m.
• Tuesday - 11:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. & 5:00 - 6:00 p.m.
• Thursday -  5:00 - 6:00 p.m. 
• Saturday - 5:00 - 6:00 p.m.
• Sunday - 3:00 - 4:00 p.m.  
• Select school PD Days will be available for public skate – Check out the calendar links above for each arena

Stick & Puck Monday's - 4:45 - 5:45 p.m.  This drop in program is for youth 12 years and under. Adult participation is encouraged. Youth 7 years & under must be spervisied by a responsible individual 14 years or older. It's an opportunity to practice basic skating, ringette and hockey skills. Full hockey gear with a CSA approved helmet is mandatory for all youth. CSA approved helmets are mandatory for adults.  Chairs, strollers, shoes, and skate aids are not permitted on the ice.  Participants are required to bring their own stick and puck. No body-checking, rough play, slap shots, scrimmages, and formal coaching permitted.  Maximum 30 skaters on the ice (youth and adults). 

Stick & Puck Wednesday's - 4:45 - 5:45 p.m. This drop in program is for youth 13-17 years. It's an opportunity to practice basic skating, ringette and hockey skills. Full hockey gear & CSA approved helmet is manditory for all youth.  CSA approved helmets and hockey gloves are mandatory for adults. Chairs, strollers, shoes, and skate aids are not permitted on the ice. Participants are required to bring their own stick and puck. No body-checking, rough play, slap shots, scrimmages, and formal coaching permitted.  Maximum 30 skaters on the ice (youth and adults).

Adult Shinny 18+ - Tuesday & Thursday 12:00 - 1:00 p.m. & Wednesday night 10:15 p.m. -11:15 p.m.  Drop in, lace up your skates, and shoot the puck around with friends for an hour.  CSA-approved helmets & gloves are mandatory for all participants during ice activity.    

Parent & Tot Skate

• Monday's  11:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m.

Adult Shinny

• Tuesday and Thursday - 12:00 - 1:00 p.m.
• Wednesday evenings - 10:15-11:15 p.m.
