📍 Pimiy Ôcenas Nâtawîhowin Askiy (Devon Healing Medicine Grounds) & Devon Community Centre

Join us as we come together to honour those who survived the residential school system and those who did not. This important day is an opportunity for reflection, healing, and community.

Schedule of Events:

  • 1:00 p.m. – Pipe Ceremony at Pimiy Ôcenas Nâtawîhowin Askiy (Devon Healing Medicine Grounds). Ladies are asked to wear a skirt or bring a blanket if participating.
  • 2:30 p.m. – Opening Prayer and Remarks (Speaker: Don Fales, 60s Scoop Survivor)
  • 3:00 p.m. – Community Walk (see map for route)
  • 4:00 p.m. – Walk Ends
  • 4:30 – 5:30 p.m. – Catered Community Meal at the Devon Community Centre (vegetarian options available)
  • 6:00 p.m. – Evening Program at the Devon Community Centre
    • Opening Prayer and Remarks
    • Short Film Screening
    • Speaker: Russell Auger
    • Cultural Showcase featuring dancers and drummers
  • 7:30 p.m. – Closing Remarks & Prayer

The Town of Devon acknowledges the land we are on, Treaty Six territory and the homeland of the Métis, which encompasses the traditional lands of the Cree (nehiyawak), Blackfoot (niitsitapi), Nakota (isga), Anishinaabe (anishinaabeg), and Métis (michif) Peoples, who are the legal caretakers and protectors of the lands and waters, and who have been here since time immemorial.
