Devon's 75th Centennial Time Capsule Burial

New time capsule to be opened in 2050 during Devon’s Centennial

On Tuesday, October 14, 2025, at 5:00 p.m., all residents are invited to gather at Town Office Park for a special community ceremony marking Devon’s 100-year anniversary. Together, we’ll witness the burial of a brand-new centennial time capsule that will remain sealed until 2050, when it will be opened during Devon’s Centennial celebrations.

The evening will feature remarks from Mayor and Council, the official sealing of the capsule, and a chance for residents to be part of this once-in-a-generation moment. To add to the celebration, everyone in attendance can enjoy free pizza as we come together to make history and celebrate our community’s legacy.

“A time capsule is more than just a box of items—it’s a snapshot of who we are as a community. When our future residents open it in 2050, they’ll see not only the growth and change of Devon, but also the pride, traditions, and values that continue to define us today.”
Mayor Jeff Craddock

Celebrate our 100-year milestone by helping us fill a new time capsule that captures life in Devon today. Approved items will be sealed this fall and rediscovered at our Centennial celebrations in 2050.
