“We were so pleased when the Town approached us to engage Devon’s art community to participate in this contest and do our part to share in the vision of a world with less single-use waste,” said Marc Haine, President of the Arts Association of Devon. “Thank you to everyone who took the time to submit a design for the contest and once again, congratulations to the winners!”

“Like many of our municipal neighbours, our Council believes that reducing the use of single-use items is a huge step towards becoming a more environmentally conscious community,” said Ray Ralph, Mayor for the Town of Devon. “Right now, we have the opportunity to be environmental leaders in our region to set a good example as we continue to explore ways to reduce Devon’s environmental impact.”

The Town’s next step is to have the winning designs printed onto reusable cloth bags this summer. The bags will then be distributed to all the residences in Devon as part of a single use waste reduction strategy as Town Council continues exploring ways for Devon to reduce its plastic footprint and be a leader in environmental stewardship.

A huge thank you goes out to everyone who submitted a design to the Arts Association of Devon for consideration in the contest and to the Arts Association of Devon for their work engaging Devon’s art community to take part in the contest.
