49 Community Events Event date: 10/25/2025 9:30 AM - 4:00 PM Export event About the Workshop The Town of Devon presents an opportunity to learn about ecological restoration using soilbioengineering to restore and stabilize steep slopes and eroding stream banks. This is a free oneday event is intended to support community watershed resiliency and to offer-hands-on training for those interested in learning about the fundamentals and field techniques for soil bioengineering. The day will start off with a brief introduction to the fundamentals of bioengineering, followed by hands-on training on willow harvesting and installation methods. Participants will gain practical experience in the application of bioengineering, and an introduction to how bioengineering may be used as an effective alternative to traditional engineering practices while building resiliency into the watershed. The workshop will be followed by a brief tour of previously installed bioengineering systems in the Devon River Valley.
