Devon is home to many incredible organizations, services, and volunteer opportunities that contribute to a caring, connected community. This directory is designed to help residents easily find local supports, activities, and ways to get involved.

All listings have been provided directly by community groups and organizations, ensuring the information reflects their current programs and services. As community offerings change over time, updates are always welcome.

Looking to volunteer? Each listing has information about their general volunteer needs and requirements. Whether you want to give back occasionally or get more involved, there are opportunities for all ages, abilities, and interests. Volunteering supports local organizations while helping build connections and strengthen community wellbeing.

    Canadian Energy Museum


Standing on the legacy of Leduc No. 1, the Canadian Energy Museum brings Canada’s energy story to life—past, present, and future. Take tour thru our five indoor galleries and large equipment outdoors and take part in interactive programs.   It’s an inviting, family‑friendly setting where kids, students, and lifelong learners can explore the science, history, and people that shaped our region and still spark ideas today.

Volunteer Access and Recruitment Information

Volunteers are the welcoming heart of the Canadian Energy Museum. Whether greeting visitors, assisting with tours and programs, supporting special events, or helping behind the scenes, you’ll play a key role in making history engaging and accessible. Training and mentoring are provided, schedules are flexible, and no prior museum experience is required. If you enjoy learning, storytelling, or connecting with people of all ages, this is a rewarding way to give back—parents, retirees, students, and community members are all welcome.

Volunteer Roles
  • Front desk and visitor greeting
  • Guided tours and education support
  • Groundskeeping/landscaping (seasonal)
  • Collections/programming assistance, cleaning

Good to Know:

  • Role‑specific guidance and mentoring provided
  • No police checks; no membership required
  • Some roles (grounds) are more time‑intensive—tell us your availability
  • Long and short-term, flexible shifts; weekend help appreciated during event days

The Town of Devon acknowledges the land we are on, Treaty Six territory and the homeland of the Métis, which encompasses the traditional lands of the Cree (nehiyawak), Blackfoot (niitsitapi), Nakota (isga), Anishinaabe (anishinaabeg), and Métis (michif) Peoples, who are the legal caretakers and protectors of the lands and waters, and who have been here since time immemorial.

We acknowledge that Devon is within the traditional lands and territories of kiskayôs (Bobtail) and maskêkosihk (Enoch Cree) First Nations. We shall continue to uphold our Treaty responsibilities to all Peoples of Treaty Six and continue to work with all Indigenous Peoples towards a better future together.
