Devon is home to many incredible organizations, services, and volunteer opportunities that contribute to a caring, connected community. This directory is designed to help residents easily find local supports, activities, and ways to get involved.

All listings have been provided directly by community groups and organizations, ensuring the information reflects their current programs and services. As community offerings change over time, updates are always welcome.

Looking to volunteer? Each listing has information about their general volunteer needs and requirements. Whether you want to give back occasionally or get more involved, there are opportunities for all ages, abilities, and interests. Volunteering supports local organizations while helping build connections and strengthen community wellbeing.

    Drive Happiness – Seniors Assisted Transportation


Drive Happiness helps older adults stay independent, connected, and active by providing safe, affordable assisted transportation. With the help of compassionate volunteer drivers, the organization ensures seniors can access medical appointments, groceries, social activities, and other essential needs. Their approach blends dignity, community, and care—bringing independence within reach for seniors across Alberta.

Volunteer Access and Recruitment Information

Volunteers can make a meaningful difference by becoming a volunteer driver—choosing their own rides and helping seniors with transportation to medical appointments, essential errands, amongst other activities. Available rides are posted to the organizations online scheduling website, where volunteers choose which rides work for their location, preferences, and schedules. The organization offers training, support, and a welcoming network of drivers who value connection and community impact. Currently serving over 70 communities across Alberta, Drive Happiness is consistently recruiting new volunteer drivers for their Seniors Assisted Transportation Program.

Volunteer Roles
  • Driving seniors to appointments, errands, and activities
  • Providing friendly companionship during trips
  • Supporting special initiatives or community partnerships
Good to Know
  • Drivers choose when and how often they volunteer through online scheduling website.
  • No minimum hours required
  • Orientation and support provided
  • A valid driver’s license, 3-year drivers abstract, and background check required
  • Please clarify the benefits / payment to the driver
  • Volunteers receive a gas reimbursement for each ride ($10 for up to 40km)
