The Devon Community Pool will reopen on Saturday, July 25!

Thanks to the hard work of our pool staff, the Devon Community Pool will reopen tomorrow at 9 a.m. for lane swim.

Please note that the pool water may be cooler than usual as it continues to return to its normal operating temperature.

Thank you for your patience and understanding while we completed the necessary work to safely reopen the pool. We look forward to welcoming everyone back!

The Devon Community Pool will remain closed through Friday, July 24, after a pair of glass swimming goggles broke in the pool basin.

For the safety of all users, the pool must be completely drained, cleaned, inspected and refilled before it can reopen. This process cannot be completed until Friday, resulting in the temporary closure of the facility.

As a result, all private swim lessons scheduled for Friday, July 24 have been cancelled.

The Town will provide a further update if the closure needs to be extended beyond Friday.

A reminder about glass goggles

The Town would also like to remind residents that glass swimming goggles are not permitted in the Devon Community Pool.

Although they may appear similar to standard swim goggles, glass lenses can shatter if damaged, creating a significant safety hazard for swimmers. When glass enters the pool, the entire basin must be drained and thoroughly cleaned before it can safely reopen, resulting in unexpected closures that affect the whole community.

Before visiting the pool, please ensure your swim goggles have plastic or polycarbonate lenses.

We apologize for the inconvenience and appreciate everyone's patience and understanding as staff work to safely reopen the pool.
