8553 Community Events RESCHEDULED FOR TWO WEEKS Join the Devon RCMP every Second Saturday for our Boater Safety Program Event date: 7/2/2022 10:00 AM - 12:00 PM Export event Last year the Devon RCMP along with several partner agencies launched a boater safety program that aims to educate water users before hitting the waterways. This program is intended to provide boater safety education and inspections in an effort to prevent emergencies from occurring. This boater safety program has been named “kisiskâciwani-sîpiy” which means “swift current” or “fast-moving water” in the nehiyaw (Plains Cree) language. The naming of this project acknowledges the legal caretakers and protectors of this land and is a symbol of our commitment to continuing to building partnerships with Indigenous communities. Date: Every second Saturday starting Saturday, May 21. Time: 10 a.m - 12 p.m. Where: Meet at River of Hope Church Parking Lot. Cost: No charge. No registration required. At a safe distance, officers will require the vessel user(s) to produce the minimum required safety equipment and operator card. Vessels not meeting the minimum safety standards will receive notification of the deficiencies to rectify. Share Print
