The Town of Devon will hold its municipal election on Monday, October 20, 2025. Residents will elect one (1) Mayor and six (6) Councillors to serve on Devon Town Council.

This year’s election includes multiple opportunities for residents to cast their ballots.

Advance Voting Opportunities

Advance polls are available for voters who are unable to attend on Election Day:

  • Thursday, October 9, 2025 – 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM – Devon Community Centre
  • Wednesday, October 15, 2025 – 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM – Devon Community Centre
  • Saturday, October 18, 2025 – 11:00 AM to 4:00 PM – Devon Public Library

Election Day

Date: Monday, October 20, 2025
Time: 10:00 AM – 8:00 PM
Place: Devon Community Centre, 20 Haven Ave, Devon, AB

Voter Eligibility

You are eligible to vote in the 2025 Devon Municipal Election if you:

  • are at least 18 years old,
  • are a Canadian citizen, and
  • are a resident of the Town of Devon on Election Day (October 20, 2025).

Voter Identification Requirements

In order to vote, you must be listed on the permanent electors register and provide proper identification.

  • Primary option: One piece of government-issued photo identification (federal, provincial, or local) showing your name and current address (e.g., Alberta Driver’s License or Alberta Identification Card).

  • Alternative option: If you do not have such ID, you may instead complete a sworn statement at the voting station to validate your identity and residence.

Examples of accepted documents (must show your name and address):

  • Alberta Driver’s License or Alberta Identification Card
  • Other government-issued photo ID with name and address
  • Attestation of Residence from a supportive living facility
  • Bank or credit card statement, or personal cheque
  • Correspondence from a school, college, or university
  • Government cheque or cheque stub
  • Income/property tax assessment notice
  • Insurance policy or coverage card
  • Letter from a public curator, public guardian, or public trustee
  • Shelter or soup kitchen letter/attestation of residence
  • Pension plan or government benefit statements (EI, OAS, social assistance, disability, child tax benefit, etc.)
  • Residential lease or mortgage statement
  • Utility bill (telephone, electricity, gas, water, internet, TV, etc.)
  • Vehicle ownership or insurance certificate
