Funding for the program will continue to be considered during future budget deliberations. Fall 2026 Large Item Event to Proceed Council directed Administration to proceed with the Fall 2026 Large Item Event while reviewing opportunities to improve how the event is delivered in the future. Following challenges experienced during the Spring 2026 event—including unusually high volumes of material, contamination of collection bins, unauthorized dumping and impacts to Community Centre activities—Council directed Administration to: Proceed with the Fall 2026 Large Item Event. Review the feasibility of relocating the event to a site that offers enhanced security. Bring forward recommendations for Council's consideration. The review will help determine whether changes to the event are needed moving forward. "Karen's Pond" Name Approved Council approved the Devon Nature Club's request to name the stormwater management facility in the Devonian Business Park Karen's Pond. The naming recognizes Karen Macaulay for her longstanding contributions to environmental stewardship and the Devon Nature Club. Intermunicipal Development Plan Exemption Authorized Council directed Administration to proceed with executing an Intermunicipal Development Plan (IDP) Exemption Letter with Parkland County. The exemption allows the Town of Devon and Parkland County to be exempt from maintaining an Intermunicipal Development Plan with one another. As the municipalities share a very small boundary with limited development potential, the exemption will reduce administrative requirements and result in cost savings for both municipalities while continuing to support a collaborative working relationship.
