The Town of Devon has proclaimed May 9 as World Migratory Bird Day, recognizing the importance of protecting migratory birds and the local habitats they rely on throughout their journeys.

World Migratory Bird Day is an opportunity to celebrate the many bird species that visit and move through the Devon area each year, while encouraging residents to learn more about bird conservation, habitat protection and the role natural spaces play in supporting wildlife.

To help mark the occasion, the Devon Bird Team, Devon Nature Club and Devon Public Library are hosting a series of free community activities the week following World Migratory Bird Day. Residents of all ages are invited to take part in hands-on learning opportunities, including crafts, stories, educational activities and a guided bird walk.
