75 Community Events Town also honored with Heritage Conservation Award for Community Spirit The Town of Devon & Devon’s Communities in Bloom (CiB) Committee was honored with a prestigious 5 Blooms - Silver rating as well as a Heritage Conservation Award at the 2024 National/International CiB Symposium Awards Ceremony in Charlottetown, PEI in mid-October. For 2024, Devon’s CiB Committee elected to participate in the National category for judging along with other communities across Canada including Capreol, ON, North Bay, ON, & St. Paul, AB. The 5 Blooms - Silver rating highlights Devon’s exceptional efforts in areas such as community appearance, environmental action, heritage conservation, tree management, and landscape design. This recognition underscores the Town’s dedication to creating a beautiful, sustainable environment that enriches both residents and visitors. Further emphasizing this commitment, the Heritage Conservation Award celebrates Devon’s initiatives to preserve its historical and cultural legacy, adding depth and continuity to the community’s identity. A special mention was also awarded to Devon’s “Community Spirit Lives Here” program, an initiative that celebrates the contributions of Devon’s volunteers, service personnel, great neighbors, and business owners who work hard to build a strong community. “We are truly honored by this recognition, and we extend our heartfelt thanks to the CiB Committee for their incredible volunteer efforts and contributions to our community,” said Mayor Craddock. “This group consistently goes above and beyond to showcase Devon on the national stage, and we would not have achieved this recognition without their hard work and dedication to our town.” These awards reflect Devon’s forward-thinking response to environmental challenges and highlight the community’s collaborative approach to building a sustainable, vibrant future.
