3993 Community Events Current ball diamonds land to be rezoned for future commercial/industrial growth The Town of Devon is proposing the relocation of the Field of Dreams, Devon’s south ball diamonds this fall to make room for future commercial/industrial growth on the land at the corner of HWY 19 and 60. The proposed plan will see the ball diamonds moved west of HWY 60 to a parcel of Town-owned land. To accommodate Devon’s ball diamonds users, the Field of Dreams will remain open until Aug. 1, 2020. The new ball diamonds are expected to be complete for the 2021 season. “Bringing development to Devon continues to be a priority of Council and the land that the Field of Dreams currently occupies is one of the most viable places to achieve this,” said Ray Ralph, Mayor for the Town of Devon. “Our Council will continue to explore every avenue to bring in cost effective new development to Devon as we remain committed to growing our non-residential tax base to better serve our residents.” Public Participation – Share your vision for new ball diamonds Public Open House Information Session Date: Monday, Mar. 2, 2020 Time: 6-8 p.m. Place: Devon Community Centre – Main Hall Drop in to learn more about the project and share any feedback with Council and Administration.
