North Saskatchewan River Safety Advisory

Following recent heavy rainfall, residents and visitors are urged to stay off the North Saskatchewan River as conditions are currently unsafe.

Fast-moving water, high river levels, floating debris and hidden currents have made the river unpredictable and dangerous for all users.

Safety reminders:

• The river is currently unsafe for all watercraft. 
• Maintain a safe distance from the riverbanks, as they may be unstable and slippery.
• Keep pets on a leash and away from the water's edge.

Attempting to enter or rescue someone from the river in these conditions is extremely dangerous and would put emergency responders at significant risk.
