Official 2021 Devon Municipal Election candidates finalized

Municipal Election to take place Monday, Oct. 18 at Devon Community Centre

The Nomination Period for the upcoming municipal election has now closed with 22 prospective candidates coming forward for an opportunity to serve on Devon Council for the next 4-year term. Of the 22 candidates, 4 are running for Mayor and 18 for Councillor.

Mayoral Candidates

The prospective candidates running for Mayor in the upcoming election include:

Councillor Candidates

The prospective candidates running for one of the 6 Councillor seats include:

Evergreen Catholic School Trustee

Evergreen Catholic School Division has acclaimed Margaret Cargill as Trustee for another term.

Black Gold School Trustee Candidates

Black Gold School Division has 3 candidates running for Trustee.

Municipal Election Details

The Devon Municipal Election is an essential service and function of democracy and is exempt from the Restrictions Exemption Program at the Devon Community Centre.

Residents must still wear a face covering and practice all COVID-19 safety measures in place while voting at the Devon Community Centre and the Town will do everything possible to ensure a safe municipal voting experience for everyone.

Election Day

The Municipal Election is Monday, Oct. 18 from 10 a.m. – 8 p.m. at the Devon Community Centre.

Advance Voting

Advance voting is available at the Devon Community Centre on:

  • Wednesday, Oct. 6 from 5-8 p.m.
  • Wednesday, Oct. 13 from 5-8 p.m.
  • Thursday, Oct. 14 from 5-8 p.m.
  • Saturday, Oct. 16 from 12-5 p.m.

Municipal Candidates Forum

The Devon & District Chamber of Commerce is planning to host a Municipal Candidates Election Forum on Monday, Oct. 4 prior to the first advance voting day. Details for the forum are being finalized and information will be shared by the Devon Chamber soon.
