Tuesday, June 30, 2026 37 Community Events The Alberta RCMP is warning residents about a scam text message currently circulating that claims to be from "Alberta Registry Services" regarding an unpaid traffic or parking ticket. The fraudulent message may: Claim you have an outstanding fine Include a link to make a payment Threaten additional fees or issues with renewing your driver's licence or vehicle registration This is a scam. Fraudsters often use urgent language and scare tactics to pressure people into clicking malicious links or providing personal and financial information. If you receive one of these messages: Do not click any links. Do not provide personal or banking information. Delete the message immediately. Verify any outstanding fines directly through official Government of Alberta or registry channels. If you have already clicked the link or shared personal information: Contact your financial institution immediately. Report the incident to your local police.
