The 2021 Devon Municipal Election is Monday, Oct. 18!

The Town of Devon will be holding a municipal election to elect one (1) Mayor and six (6) Councillors to serve for the next 4-year term.

The Town of Devon Municipal Election is scheduled for:

Date: Monday, October 18, 2021
Time: 10 a.m. - 8 p.m.
Place: Devon Community Centre, 20 Haven Ave, Devon, AB T9G 2B9.

*The Restrictions Exemption Program will not impact the voting process and proof of vaccination will not be required to enter the Devon Community Centre to vote at Advance Polls or on Election Day*

Who is eligible to vote?

Individuals can vote in the Town of Devon’s municipal election if they:

  • are at least 18 years old;
  • are a Canadian citizen;
  • are a resident of the Town of Devon on Election Day (October 18, 2021)

Voter Identification Information

In order to vote in the 2021 Devon Municipal Election, voters are required to provide one piece of identification that establishes both their name and current residential address, as well as make a statement in the presence of an election officer at the voting station.

Special Ballots

If you will be unable to attend a physical voting station on election day or one of the four advance voting days, you can request a special ballot for one of three reasons:

  • physical disability
  • out of jurisdiction (studying or working away from their place of ordinary residence, or vacationing during the election period)
  • are a candidate or working as an election worker

How to receive a Special Ballot

Between August 1, 2021, and 4:00 pm on Friday, October 15, 2021, you can request a Special Ballot by completing the Request for Special Ballot Package and submitting it to the Town’s Returning Officer.

School Trustee Election

The Black Gold & Evergreen Catholic Separate School Division Trustee election is also on the ballot. The Evergreen Schol Division has been acclaimed, however 3 candidates are running to serve as Ward 2 Black Gold School Division Trustee.

Senate Election & Referendum

A second ballot will be given to voters at the polls along with their municipal ballot which includes the 2021 Alberta Senate Election and 2 referendum questions from the province.
