Fibre Connect (a CRTC-regulated provider) is building new fibre-optic infrastructure in Devon. Approved subcontractors will complete the construction on Fibre Connect’s behalf. Work may include excavation in the roadway, boulevards, and other public lands (easements/rights-of-way) to install conduit and fibre.
Once neighbourhood construction is complete, residents and businesses may choose to have a fibre line extended from the property line to their building, enabling future service sign-up with telecommunications providers (TELUS PureFibre).

The majority of construction occurs within the public boulevard/utility right-of-way (typically within ~2 metres of the property line) under approved permits. These corridors allow utilities to access and maintain buried services.
Areas disturbed during installation will be restored by the installer. Where lawns were impacted, crews will clean up and seed after neighbourhood construction wraps up (seasonal timelines may apply).
Extending the fibre from the street to the side of your building requires your permission. Fibre Connect will review the least-intrusive route (often similar to your existing copper path) and install a small exterior termination box. Two common methods are:
Cost: There is no cost to have the fibre line installed to your premises during this project’s active construction window.
Installations and any private-property restoration are between the property owner and Fibre Connect. Expect door-to-door outreach from a Fibre Connect representative to obtain signed approval from the property owner.
