There are many supports available for residents in need

There are many supports available for residents in need. If you have any questions feel free to reach out to Devon FCSS at FCSS@devon.ca.

Food, Shopping, and Financial Support

Food - If you are experiencing difficulties with being able to afford or access enough food please call the Town Office to discuss at 780-987-8300. Devon FCSS can also support access to the Food Bank.

Bills - If you are concerned about bills, utilities, or other financial issues please call the office to discuss. There may be options to assist through external supports, such as:

Income Support 

  • Income Support can help you and your family with basic living costs and other necessities. Depending on your needs and situation you may be eligible to receive assistance through Alberta’s Income Support program.

Affordability Action Plan

There are 7 parts to this plan:

  • Fuel tax suspension
  • Electricity Price Protection
  • Electricity & Natural Gas Rebate Extensions
  • Indexing Personal Income Taxes
  • Financial Support Payments for Families & Seniors
  • Financial Support Payments for AISH, PDD & Income Support Clients
  • Low-income Transit Passes

The Government of Alberta will provide direct payments to help parents, seniors, and vulnerable people with their daily living costs.

Canada Top Up Housing Benefit

The one-time top-up to the Canada Housing Benefit aims to help low-income renters with the cost of renting. You may be eligible for a tax-free one-time payment of $500 if your income and the amount that you pay on rent qualify.

Medical Appointments & Transportation

The community bus is currently running on Mondays to Leduc and Tuesdays/Thursdays in Town and can be pre-booked for in-town medical appointments. Call 780-910-1960 to book.

For out of Town needs please contact the Town Office to see what options may be available to you through external sources. These options are however quite limited.

Devon FCSS offers subsidized counseling to eligible residents. There are a variety of mental health supports available at free to low cost, please call the Town Office at 780-987-8300  to discuss.
