Monday, March 2, 2026 1 Community Events The Town of Devon and Leduc County have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to guide joint planning for future water and wastewater servicing for the Whitemud Landing Major Area Structure Plan (ASP) and surrounding growth areas. “Regional collaboration is essential to building strong, resilient communities,” said Jeff Craddock, Mayor for the Town of Devon. “This MOU positions both municipalities to plan ahead, share knowledge, and make responsible long-term decisions that benefit residents on both sides of our borders.” This document formalizes both municipalities’ commitment to work together on long-term servicing needs, ensuring a coordinated, efficient and sustainable approach to future development. The agreement establishes a clear framework for collaboration and outlines how the Town and County will work collectively on planning, engineering, and decision-making as the region grows. “This agreement demonstrates how municipalities can work together to support responsible growth through shared planning and open communication,” says Leduc County Mayor Tanni Doblanko. “By coordinating our efforts early, we’re better positioned to support development in a way that is efficient, sustainable and beneficial to the region.” Leduc County has identified the Whitemud Landing Major ASP and nearby lands as priority areas for future servicing. Working with the Town of Devon allows both municipalities to explore servicing options that leverage Devon’s water and wastewater treatment infrastructure, ensuring that future upgrades or expansions are evaluated through a joint and transparent process. The MOU will remain in effect for three years with the option for a further extension. Share Print
